A MESSAGE FROM OUR PARISH PRIEST
 With great joy I take up this task to minister to you, the people of the Parish of South Brisbane. As many of you are already aware, I am Fr Fernanto Pananghat, a Capuchin Franciscan friar and Missionary from Kerala, India. Yet, I do not come here alone, as I also come here with the support of my Capuchin brothers.
As your pastor, yet also as a weak servant of God, I will rely much on your support and prayers so that together, we may build up the mystical body of Christ, the Church and give glory to God our Father in Heaven. I especially place all our work under the loving maternal care of our patroness and Mother, Saint Mary.
And finally I want to send my sincerest best wishes and deep gratitude to Fr Ken Howell, for his support and guidance over the last few months in preparing me to begin here. I also want to thank him for his dedication and hard work over the past 4 years on building the strong foundation that he leaves me with.
As we begin this journey may I bless you with the blessing that St Francis so often repeated:
The Lord bless you and keep you. May He show His face to you and have mercy.
May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace. The Lord bless you.
